Several old age people died with unidentified reasons in Dandolo, Kano Nigeria. When different teams based on official and non official community’s health agents visited to the said vicinity, they have learnt from graveyard workers there that the number of death has been increased from few to 14 these days, which is not normal. The teams then suspected that the reason for the sudden rise in death score at the location might be due to COVID-19.
A video from a lockdown area in Kano has shown that the local people are violating the orders of lockdown by sport gatherings despite the reports of increasing mortality rate in the town possibly due to the novel coronavirus since past few days.
Nevertheless the country’s official data lacks the real picture of the situation and has shown 665 confirmed virus cases, 188 recoveries and 22 deaths on April, 21. The government has denied any report of unusual deaths earlier in Kano but now due to facing pressure by the community agents, has ordered to investigate the reason of unusual death toll in the town.
