In Islamic calendar which is lunar calendar Dhul Hijjah is twelve and the last month. The name Dhul Hijjah is based on the fact that Muslims around the world perform hajj in this month. It’s one of the four sacred months of Islamic calendar.
The sacred months are Rajab, and the three consecutive months of Dhū al-Qa’dah, Dhu al-Ḥijjah and Muḥarram.
Muharram is the first month of the Islamic year. The new Islamic year 1440 would start on September 9, 2018.
